About Phoenix Hosiery (courtesy of the University of Wisconsin)
The Phoenix Hosiery Company was a prominent business in Milwaukee from its establishment in 1897 until 1959. During the corporation’s 62 years of production in Milwaukee, they produced many different lines of stockings and hosiery for men, women, and children. The company’s main target consumer base was middle to high class women, although their ads depicted only upper class women and declared that their products were sold “by the best shops.”

A terrific art piece for anyone who loves the history of fashion, or perhaps local Milwaukee history!
